Hey there, wildly successful travelpreneur!
I’m back from Europe! Did ya miss me?
And while I definitely missed you and our awesome community of travelpreneurs, it was an absolute dream to be back in Europe after 3 long years away from my favorite continent.
Although traveling across multiple countries via train only with a toddler, luggage, and stroller had its challenges.
As always, the travel experience pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me a lot about myself and the world.
Here are the top things I learned over the month:
The natural beauty of Slovenia is unreal - we spent 10 days exploring the country from our base in Ljubljana and I just want to return and see even more of the countryside.
Traveling by train can be comfortable, especially on a high-speed train going through stunning landscapes. But it is still travel and that comes with hiccups like crowded commuter trains, delays, reroutes, and conductors that don’t speak English.
I still don’t like beer - we met up with some friends for a weekend in Munich and they convinced me (peer pressure?) to have a beer with them at Chinesischer Turm beer garden in the English Garden.
Traveling with our son was well worth the extra challenge. He is a natural adventurer, is so easygoing, and has the uncanny to make anyone he meets smile or giggle - pure joy!
Prague is just so pretty - I got to wander the streets alone for a bit on our 6th day there and I just felt so in awe of the city and found a few hidden treasures.
Now that you’re ready to book your trip to Europe, let’s get back to business:
When it comes to reaching out to travel brands for sponsorships, it's all about making a great first impression.
It's a competitive market out there, and if you want to be taken seriously and land partnerships with your dream brands, you need to make sure you have all your digital assets in place beforehand. Keep in mind, these things don’t need to be perfect (they will always be a work in progress) but having them makes it much easier for you to land sponsorships.
Here are the 5 things you need to have before you send your first pitch
The Right Email: Find the right email address, like uncovering hidden treasure. Make sure you're connecting with the right person who handles sponsorships. No more shooting your pitch into the void!
Killer Subject Line: Your subject line is your secret weapon to grab attention. Make it magnetic, captivating, and impossible to ignore. A killer subject line is your ticket to getting your pitch opened and read.
Personalized Pitch: Brands love feeling special, so sprinkle that personal touch in your pitch. You can still use a template to start off with but show them you've done your homework—understand their vibe, values, and goals. Craft a pitch that speaks their language and gets them nodding with excitement.
Masterful Media Kit: Your media kit is your pitching superhero costume. Dress to impress! Showcase your social media prowess, engagement stats, and any mind-blowing numbers that prove you're a sponsorship superstar. Make them see your value and expertise at a glance.
Powerful Portfolio: Time to flaunt your skills! Build a portfolio that makes brands drool with anticipation. Share links to your best work, from killer blog posts to jaw-dropping videos. Let your creativity and talent do the talking and leave brands hungry for more.
That’s it! All you need to start pitching. If you have these things you can say goodbye to ignored pitches and hello to a flood of dream collaborations!
But what if you still don’t feel ready to hit “send” on your pitch?
