So, you’re all about those dreamy hotel stays, right?
But here’s the thing: Brand research is your secret weapon, and it’s often overlooked.
Let’s dive into why it’s crucial and how it can level up your sponsorship game.
Mistake Alert! Many folks skip the brand research step.
They dive headfirst into pitching hotels without really understanding the brand’s vibe, values, and target audience.
Result? Crickets. Their pitches fall flat, and they miss out on sweet sponsorships.
Why’s It a Mistake? Imagine proposing a vegan menu to a steakhouse. Awkward, right?
Well, not researching a brand is like that.
Hotels have unique personalities—some are boutique chic, while others are family-friendly havens. If you don’t get this, you’re basically throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping it sticks.
The Game-Changing Idea Drumroll, please! 🥁
Start with brand research.
This is actually ALWAYS the focus during the first week of my pitching challenges. The travel creators currently participating in the hotels & resorts pitch challenge are learning the benefits of this process firsthand:
Dig deep into their website, social media, and guest reviews. Understand their ethos, aesthetics, and who they cater to. Then, tailor your pitch accordingly.
Why It Works.
When you know a brand’s soul, you can craft personalized pitches. Mention specific amenities, highlight shared values, and propose content ideas that align.
Suddenly, you’re not just another email—they see you as a potential partner who gets them.
How to Apply It
Stalk Their Website: Check out their “About Us” page. What’s their story? What sets them apart?
Social Media Spy: Follow them on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. What’s their tone? Who engages with them?
Guest Reviews Galore: Read those TripAdvisor gems. What do guests love? Any recurring themes?
The Magic That Unfolds
🌟 Higher Conversion Rates: Your pitches resonate because they’re spot-on.
🌟 Meaningful Connections: Brands appreciate your effort—they’re more likely to say, “Let’s collaborate!”
🌟 Dreamy Stays: Imagine sipping cocktails by the infinity pool, courtesy of your well-researched pitch.
So, my fellow wanderlusters, go forth and conquer! Next time you pitch, remember: Brand research is your golden ticket. 🎟
