Hey, wildly successful travelpreneur!
I’ll make the intro to this issue quick because it’s Heritage Day here in South Africa and I would like to take some time off to play with my baby boy.
(He recently started walking and watching him move that little body and explore his newfound freedom with a curious mind is nothing short of pure magic and joy…🥰)
Also, you might have noticed that this is issue #52 - that’s right, I’ve sent this newsletter consistently for a whole year (with a few short breaks in between) which is huge for me. But, I would never have been able to accomplish this without you!
So, from the bottom of my heart, I want to Thank You! 🙏 Thank you for trusting me enough to give me your email address. Thank you for opening my newsletters, liking, commenting, and replying to them. Without you, this little newsletter wouldn’t exist and I value and appreciate you immensely!
Now, let’s move on to the pitching tip of the week…
Post Pandemic Pitching Tip #3 (PPPT#3)
Today, I've got a tip that will make you feel like a VIP: Pitch new hotels that have just opened or are about to open.
I know what you're thinking. 🤔 "But they won't have any budget for sponsorships!"
Think again, my friend.
New hotels are often eager to get their name out there and attract guests - and that's where you come in. So don't hesitate to reach out and introduce yourself as an awesome travel creator.
Just be mindful about which hotels you approach.
Boutique properties might not have the resources to offer sponsorships until they generate some income. On the other hand, bigger chain hotels (think Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Minor Hotels, etc.), have new marketing budgets 💵 to spend and are ready to impress. They may even add some luxurious extras to your sponsorship terms.
And let me tell you, it's worth it!
I pitched a new hotel opening in a European city this year, which is part of an ultra-luxury hotel chain, and they were thrilled to work with me. They even added a ton of extras to the already generous sponsorship terms and are planning to purchase a 12-month license for our images 📸 after the stay - which means I get paid for the collaboration too!
So, what are you waiting for?
Don't be afraid to pitch new hotels and take advantage of their marketing budgets. Just make sure to do your research and approach the right hotels at the right time with the right proposal.
