Hey there, travelpreneur!
I’m back to work after a fun week of showing our friends around the Garden Route.
We explored our hometown, Mossel Bay, went on road trips to view the Knysna Heads, hiked through the Garden of Eden, supported some conservation programs for birds of prey in Plettenberg Bay, and shopped and ate our way through the Wild Oats Market in Sedgefield.
Now, I’m ready to get back into the swing of things…
First up?
The launch of my highly anticipated bundle of pitch templates - The Pitch Vault!
I’m tweaking a few more templates to make sure they’re perfect for you and your pitching needs but I plan to launch it this week - keep an eye out for that email…
The Pitch Vault contains pitch template sets that will take you through the entire process from the initial pitch all the way to finalization and I’ve created custom pitches for every type of travel creator.
While we’re on the topic of pitching, I’m here to drop my next tip…
Post Pandemic Pitching Tip #2 (PPPT#2)
Today, I'm sharing a tip that might sound like a no-brainer, but you'd be surprised by how many people still overlook it.
Are you ready?
Here it is: Start pitching early!
Trust me when I say it's one that can make a huge difference when it comes to landing sponsorships with hotels. Especially if you're traveling during peak season.
Let me give you an example.
If you're planning to travel during the summer, start pitching as early as January before hotels get fully booked. That's when I started pitching for my trip to Europe in May/June. You'll likely get responses from hotels 🏨 stating that it's their busy season and they'll only be able to collaborate if they have space during your dates. (I've gotten a lot of those but since I reached out so early, most hotels still had space).
So, it's important to be ahead of the game and pitch as early as possible.
My suggestion?
Pitch 6+ months ahead if you're traveling during peak season or festival time (think Oktoberfest, Christmas, Carnivale). 🍻🎄🎭
3+ months if you're traveling during shoulder season.
And if your trip is during off-peak season, then 1-2 months in advance should be enough time.
Remember, the early bird gets the worm. 🐦🐛 Or in this case, the early pitcher gets the sponsorship.
So, start planning ahead and pitch early to increase your chances of landing that dream partnership with hotels.
