But, why?

As I mentioned in this email at the beginning of the year, I wanted to be more experimental as a business owner and play with different ideas to find what works for me and my community (you).

As I contemplated what to do, I also considered how I could provide the most value to you which led to the idea of a weekly newsletter full of travel industry opportunities.

So, this is my playful attempt at trying something different and the first official issue of my new weekly newsletter - Tales of a Travelpreneur.

Paid Writing Opportunities ✍️

1. National Geographic Travel is looking for stories focused on sustainable travel, national parks and wild places, UNESCO World Heritage sites, family travel, and stories that reveal the authentic qualities, histories, and cultures of places. Pay starts at $0.50 per word for cold pitches with no pre-existing relationship. Find out how more about them here and then pitch them here.

2. No Cilantro, Please Magazine is “a quarterly digital magazine that celebrates small business and the diversity of entrepreneurship through food and lifestyle discoveries.” They are seeking 2 freelance writers for their first issue. 1. Matador Network is seeking a passionate female travel blogger to go on an all-expenses-paid Press Trip to Guadalajara, Mexico which is taking place in May 2022. You’ll be working with a local female-owned tequila brand to explore the region through food & drink.

Travel Plans ✈️

This week we’ll be taking our first mini-trip with our baby boy (at 2.5 months old). To get him used to travel we’ve decided to stick close to home and explore the gorgeous Garden Route further. Our first partnership will be with the family-friendly luxury game lodge, Botlierskop Private Game Reserve.
